  1. Blood is the softest connective tissue.
  2. It is composed of two parts:-
  • Plasma
  • Blood cells

3. Blood cells are of two types-

  • RBC (Red blood cells) also known as erythrocyte.
  • WBC (White blood cells) also known as Leukocyte.
  • Platelets also known as thrombocyte.

4. Platelets are formed by bone marrow and help in the clotting of blood (stop blood flow during injury).

5. A normal platelet count is around 140,000 to 450,000 platelets per mm of blood.

6. If the number of platelets count is reduced then risk of bleeding increase and clotting will delay.
