Question

What happens if there is no exchange of gases in plants

Open in App
Solution

Dear student
Plants exchange the gases they need through the structure present in their leaves called stomata. They require oxygen for respiration and carbon dioxide for photosynthesis. The gases diffuse into the intercellular spaces of the leaf through pores, which are normally on the underside of the leaf . If there is no gas exchange plant won't be able to take carbon dioxide in and will not be able to perform photosynthesis and thus will die.
