Acid-base reaction:

  • When an acid combines with a base, it leads to the formation of the corresponding salt and water. This reaction is known as an acid-base reaction.
  • The acid-base reaction can also be called a Neutralization reaction.

Example of Neutralization reactions:

HCl(aq)+NaOH(aq)ā†’NaCl(aq)+H2O(l)

Here, sodium chloride is the salt formed by the reaction of hydrochloric acid and sodium hydroxide.
