Amino acids:

1. It contains amino ($-{\mathrm{NH}}_2$) and carboxyl ($-\mathrm{COOH}$) functional groups.
2. Based on the position, it is classified as $\mathrm{\alpha },\mathrm{\beta },\mathrm{\gamma },\mathrm{\delta }$, and so on.
3. It is also classified into three categories acidic, basic, and neutral which depend on the relative number of amino and carboxyl groups in its molecule.

Effects of amino acids:

1. The excess amount of amino acid is produced from the digested proteins which transfer to the liver from the small intestine.
2. The liver controls the concentration of amino acids and the excess amino acid is extracted safely.
3. The excess amino acids are processed and stored as glucose or ketones.
