mRNA:
It is a single-stranded RNA molecule that matches a gene's genetic sequence and is read by a ribosome during the protein synthesis process.
Before it can be translated, eukaryotic pre-mRNA goes through considerable processing.
Pre-mRNA processing is comprised of three primary events: 5′ end-capping, splicing and 3′-end polyadenylation
Phases after mRNA processing:
mRNA is transferred to the cytoplasm and translated into protein by ribosomes after processing.
Because eukaryotic transcription and translation are compartmentalised, eukaryotic mRNAs must be exported from the nucleus to the cytoplasm, a process that may be controlled by many signalling pathways.
The ribosome can then translate eukaryotic mRNA that has been processed and delivered to the cytoplasm (i.e., mature mRNA).
Translation can take place at free-floating ribosomes in the cytoplasm or at the endoplasmic reticulum via the signal recognition particle.
