Let original base, height $=$b, h and new $=2b,2h$

$\Rightarrow$ Original area, $A=\frac{1}{2}bh$ and new, $A^{\prime }=\frac{1}{2}\left(2b\right)\left(2h\right)=\frac{1}{2}\left(4bh\right)$

$\Rightarrow \frac{A^{\prime }}{A}=4$.
