What happens to the charges when a negatively-charged object is brought closer to a neutral object?

Open in App
Solution

Dear student
If a negatively charged object is brought closer to a neutral object then that neutral object will also gain negative charge. Thus, both objects become charged negatively. In order for the neutral sphere to become negative, it must gain electrons from the negatively charged rod.
