What happens to the chemical composition of the original substance during a chemical change?

Open in App
Solution

In a chemical change, the atoms in the reactants rearrange themselves and bond together differently to form one or more new products with different characteristics than the reactants(reacting substances).

In fact, When a new substance is formed, the change is called a chemical change.

When you burn paper, for instance, it turns to ashes, which is a completely new product, and can't be changed back to paper.
