Question

What happens to the energy liberated during respiration

Open in App
Solution

Respiration releases energy for use in life processes. It is released gradually and not in one go. It is controlled by many enzymes and it is a long process.

Some form of energy is released as heat and the rest of the energy is stored in a chemical form that is ATP which is used for cell growth, division, and cell repairing. Also, the energy is used for the production of DNA, RNA, amino acids, antibiotics, and pheromones within the cells.
