Step 1: Maxwell distribution curve:

  1. With increasing temperature, the entire distribution curve shifts to the right. i.e., it decreases
  2. Temperature has an effect on the Maxwell-Boltzmann distribution.
  3. The molecules have less energy at lower temperatures.
  4. As a result, the molecule speeds are slower and the distribution has a narrower range.
  5. The distribution flattens out as the temperature of the molecules rises. Because the molecules have more energy at higher temperatures, they move faster.
