What happens to the momentum of a body when velocity is doubled and mass gets halved.

Open in App
Solution

  1. Momentum is the product of mass and velocity.
  2. As an equation it is given by p=mv.
  3. If velocity is doubled and mass gets halved then momentum is given by p=mv=m2×2v=mv

Hence, momentum remains unchanged.
