  1. It is the final stage of Prophase I whereby crossing over is complete.
  2. At this stage of Prophase I, the nucleolus, the nuclear membrane of the cell starts to disappear, and the appearance of fully compact homologous chromosomes is seen.
  3. It is characterized by the terminalisation of chaismata.
