Dear student,
After the fertilisation, the ovule forms a seed, which contains the stored food and an embryo which later grows into a new plant. The ovary also develops into a fruit and protects the seed.
After the fertilization process , disintegration of the haploid cells of the embryo sac takes place. The diploid cells of the ovule then develops into the water-resistant and hard outer covering of the seed, which is known as the seed coat or the testa. The diploid zygote later develops into the embryo, and the triploid endosperm cells multiply and provide nutrition to the developing embryo.
Regards.
