Time period of a simple pendulum is given :

$$\begin{gathered} T=2\pi \sqrt{\frac{L}{g}} \\ where,Liseffectivelengthofthependulumandgistheaccelerationduetogravity. \end{gathered}$$

As value of acceleration due to gravity increase as we go from equator to pole.
Since, T is inversely proportional to g, hence when the simple pendulum is taken from equator to poles, hence time period of the pendulum will decrease.
