What happens to the rate of evaporation when salt is added to the water?

Rate of evaporation decrease when common salt is added in water.

Since evaporation is a surface phenomenon.When common salt is added the concentration of water increases and the more concentration, less the water molecules on the surface and hence less rate of evaporation.
