Case1: When capacitors' opposite polarity plates are connected together:

Total charge, $Q_{1} - Q_{2}$ , here charge will be subtracted.
So, common potential will be, $\frac{Q_{1} - Q_{2}}{C_{1} + C_{2}}$
Case2: When capacitors' same polarity plates are connected together:

Total charge, $Q_{1} + Q_{2}$
So, common potential will be, $\frac{Q_{1} + Q_{2}}{C_{1} + C_{2}}$
