Not every nation has been able to embrace diversity the way India has done.
- When a country fails to embrace diversity, discrimination happens against people on the basis of religion, culture, race or gender leading to Fight between people within a country which weakens its ability to solve more important problems like hunger, poverty and illiteracy.
- For example- Sri Lanka did not give proper rights to its minorities and hence was engulfed in a Civil War since the 1980s, which resulted in killing of people from both majority and minority communities.
- Pakistan also failed to provide a safe place for the minorities and even till date religious minorities are persecuted there and are forced to flee to the neighbouring countries.
- People in Sudan are fighting because they belong to different tribes while People in Syria and Yemen are fighting because they follow different religious rules.
- This continuous fighting has led to extreme poverty and people in these countries are struggling to fight poverty, hunger, lack of drinking water and education. Hence, Diversity should be accepted and celebrated all over the world to make this planet a better place to live.
