Question

What happens when a liquid is heated?

Open in App
Solution

  1. When a liquid is heated, the particles within the liquid vibrate and begin to move, expanding the liquid
  2. As the kinetic energy increases, the particles begin to move more rapidly, increasing the intermolecular space(space between two molecules or atoms).
  3. As a result, the liquid is converted into gas. This process is referred to as boiling.
