When a piece of zinc metal is added to copper sulphate solution, zinc replaces copper from the solution, resulting in the formation of zinc sulphate, along with copper.
The colour of the solution changes from blue to colourless, and a reddish brown layer of copper gets deposited on the zinc metal.
Chemical equation:
Zn(s)+CuSO4(aq)→ZnSO4(aq)+Cu(s) (Blue) (Colourless)
