Question

What happens when a pollen grain falls on a stigma?

Open in App
Solution

When pollen grains reached stigma, substances present on stigma start germination of pollen grains. After the start of germination, a tube starts to grow from pollen grain and reaches to the ovary through style. In the ovule of the ovary, stamens fuse with the pistil. This fusion form zygote by fertilization process. After the fertilization process, the ovule is developed into seed during ovary into a fruit.
