Step 1: Definition

A lens that redirects a straight light beam from the sources to create a smaller, upright virtual picture is called the concave lens. It could generate both physical and virtual pictures. Concave lenses feature at least one curved surface on the interior.

Step 2: Two foci

A light beam can enter a lens from either end. As a result, a lens has two primary focuses.

The focal position of such a concave lens seems to be a position F2 upon that lens's primary axis where light rays incident parallel towards the principal axis seems to diverge the following refraction by the lens.

Therefore, whenever parallel light beams flow through a concave lens towards the main axis, this same lens deviates from its own focal point as well as light is refracted.
