Open in App
Solution

Axon:

  1. The neurons that transmit chemical and electrical signals to other cells are called axons.
  2. The nerve impulses from the cell body to another neuron or muscle are conducted by the axon.
  3. The Axon terminal ends in a synaptic knob.
  4. When the impulse reaches the axon terminal, it triggers the movement of synaptic vesicles towards the membrane where it fuses with the plasma membrane releasing its neurotransmitter in the synaptic cleft.
