Question

what happens when an Iron strip is placed in zinc sulphate solution?

Open in App
Solution

Actually, nothing will happen. This is because iron is much less reactive than zinc, which means it is unable to displace the zinc from the sulphate solution. If you were to do the reverse, the zinc would displace the iron in the iron sulphate solution to get zinc sulphate and Iron.
