Question

What happens when
Soline solution is given to protients of dehydration and not pure water

Open in App
Solution

Dear student,
The saline solution leads to the removal of excess water from the cell causing exoosmosis. This is because the concentration of water inside the cell is more than outside, so water moves from high concentration to low concentration.

The pure water if given to the proteins of dehydration will lead to the entry of the water inside the cell or the proteins leading to endoosmosis and thus the dehydrated stated would not be maintained.
