Question

What happens when entropy reaches maximum?

Open in App
Solution

Maximum entropy:

The maximum entropy means there is no availability of temperature difference and energy difference. It is also known as heat death because everything is burnt out at this point.

There are many things that occur at maximum entropy:

  1. There is a decomposition of neutrons, protons, and electrons.
  2. At this point, the system is in an equilibrium state.
  3. There will be totally disorganised movement.
  4. More amount of heat will be released so that no hot and cold objects are there, everything will be on the same temperature.
