Solution

Combustion is a chemical reaction that produces light and heat in the form of flame and is frequently accompanied by the release of Oxygen.

When Ethene (C2H4) is burnt in excess of Oxygen (O2), incomplete combustion takes place to form Carbon dioxide (CO2) gas, and Water (H2O) vapors are formed.

Carbon dioxide gas is produced when Ethene is burnt in excess of Oxygen.

The chemical reaction involved in this process is:

C2H4(g)+3O2(g)2CO2(g)+2H2O(l)(Ethene)(Oxygen)(Carbon(Water)dioxide)
