Question

What happens when frequency increases to RC circuit?

Open in App
Solution

  1. A resistor-capacitor circuit is an electrical circuit consisting of passive components like capacitors and resistors.
  2. The capacitor stores energy and the resistor connected to the circuit control the rate of discharging or charging.
  3. As the frequency of the voltage increases, the capacitive reactance of the capacitor decrease.
  4. For the RC circuit, the voltage of the resistor and capacitor is given by
    V=VR2+VC2
    Where VR is the voltage across resistance and VC is the voltage across the capacitor.
  5. If the frequency of the voltage is increased in a series RC circuit then the phase angle decreases.
  6. The impedance of the RC circuit is given by
    Z=R2+14π2f2C2
    Where Ris the resistance of the RC circuit, C is the capacitance of the RC circuit and f is the frequency of the RC circuit.
