Dear Student
(i) Lead nitrate on heating decomposes into lead monoxide (PbO), nitrogen dioxide (NO2) is liberated, along with oxygen, as a reddish brown gas.
Pb(NO3)2 + heat → 2PbO + 4NO2 + O2
(ii) On heating, ferrous sulphate crystals lose water and anhydrous ferrous sulphate (FeSO4) is formed. So the colour of the crystals change. On further heating, anhydrous ferrous sulphate decomposes to form ferric oxide (Fe2O3), sulphur dioxide (SO2) and sulphur trioxide (SO3).
FeSO4.7H2O + heat → FeSO4 + 7 H2O
2 FeSO4 + heat → Fe2O3 + SO2 + SO3
