What happens when partial pressure of oxygen becomes same in the alveoli and alveolar capillary?

Open in App
Solution

Dear Student,

There is an exchange of gases occurs at the diffusion membrane. The diffusion or exchange of gases tend to happen due to pressure gradient between the gases. This pressure gradient is created due to difference in pressures of exchanging gases. So, if these pressures gets equal, then there will not be any diffusion, the exchange of gases ultimately will stop.

Regards.
