The correct option is B Rainwater washes way the top soil.
Without vegetation the soil particles are held very close to each other and have no room for water to flow through them. Therefore, rainwater can not percolate through such soil type easily.
So, option A is not correct.
The plant roots are known to hold the soil in position, which makes it harder for soil to wash away accidentally. But in the absence of vegetation, this protection no longer exists and therefore, rainwater washes away the top soil.
This means option B is correct and C is incorrect.
