Question

What happens to inductance when the number of turns is increased?

Open in App
Solution

  1. Inductance is the tendency of an electrical conductor to oppose a change in the electric current flowing through it. The flow of electric current creates a magnetic field around the conductor.
  2. Inductance opposes the change in current.
  3. The equation of the inductance can be written as: L=NϕI, where N represents the number of turns, φ represents the flux, I represents the current.
  4. Inductance is proportional to the number of turns of the coil. so when number of turn increases inductance increase.
