Question

What happens when the temperature of paramagnetic sample is lowered ? Hence define Curie's law.

Open in App
Solution

In a paramagnetic material, the magnetization of the material is directly proportional to the applied magnetic field. However, if the temperature of the material is lowered, this proportionality is increased, for a fixed value of the field, the magnetization is inversely proportional to temperature.
Curie's law:- M=C.BT
where, T= absolute temperature
C= curie constant
B= applied magnetic field
M= magnetization
M1T
This is called curie's law.
