What happens when you keep blowing in a blow tube which is filled with lime water?
limewater turns milky
after sometime white insoluble solid settles
When air is blown continuously in a blow tube which is filled with lime water, the following reaction takes place.
carbon dioxide (the air blown) + calcium hydroxide(lime)→calcium carbonate
CO2+Ca(OH)2→CaCO3
Lime water turns milky due to the formation of Calcium carbonate and settles down as a precipitate.
