Let the expression that is to be added to 2a+3b be X
Then, (2a+3b)+X = 7a+9b .....[1 Mark] or, X = (7a+9b)−(2a+3b) So, X =7a+9b−2a−3b .....[1 Mark]
i.e. X =7a−2a+9b−3b Therefore, X =5a+6b .....[1 Mark]
What has to be added to (a+b) to get (3a+2b)?
