What if more copper sulfate or caustic soda is added in the protein solution

This is a test for proteins. It is called Biuret Test.
The reagent used in the Biuret Test is a solution of copper sulfate (CuSO4) and sodium hydroxide or caustic soda (NaOH). Presence of protein will make the solution turn to purple.

If more NaOH and CuSO4 is added no notable change will occur to the colour. It remains purple.
