Question

What if we mix 1 litre of milk with one litre of water .Here in this case both of the two quantities are in equal amount then which one would be the solute and which one would be the solvent?

Solution

Milk has: water, proteins, fats, lactose, minerals, and vitamins

So we can say that the quantity of water is more and that it acts as a solvent to each of the components of milk and milk as a whole.
Also note that choosing solute and solvent depends on the number of moles of the substances and not there weight or there volume.

Hope this helps :)
