When freshly prepared diazonium​ salt of primary aromatic amine is treated with Cu2X2(X=Cl,Br), aryl amine is formed. This reaction is known as Sandmeyer reaction. But, replacement of diazonium group with iodine doesn’t require cuprous halide, it can be done with KI.
