Question

What is a biosphere reserve? How is it different from a wildlife sanctuary and a national park?

Open in App
Solution

A biosphere reserve is a large area protected for the conservation of wildlife, plants and human tribes of that area. It is different from a wildlife sanctuary and a national park as it has a buffer zone outside the protected area. This buffer zone protects the wildlife from human interference. Similarly, it protects the nearby agricultural area from the damage that might be caused by the wildlife.
