Solution
Dear student
Civil war is a war fought between factions of the inhabitants of a single country, or the citizens of a single republic. The Civil war that took place between two different groups Sinhalese and Tamils were due to a set of reasons which are as under:
Tamils were discriminated in all walks of life be it a religion; employment or education.
The Sinhala spoken by the majority was considered official and the second major language Tamil was overlooked.
There was state support to promote and foster Buddhism that created a sense of mistrust among the Tamils who have almost faced discrimination in other sectors too. The growing discontent among the Tamils gave birth to a sense of alienation in them which pushed the country into a civil war.
