Solution

Convergent traits:

  1. Convergent evolution is the process in which organisms that are not closely related evolve similar features.
  2. Adaptions take the form of similar body forms, colors, organs, and other adaptions which make the organism's phenotype.
  3. Convergent evolution produces analogous structures.
  4. Analogous structures have similar forms or functions between diverged species.
  5. Analogous structures are different structures that evolve to perform the same function and hence have similarities.
  6. Homologous structures are also formed during convergent evolution.
  7. Homologous structure is a specific organ or bone which appears throughout many different organisms.
  8. Homologous structures have a slightly different form or shape and indicate a divergence from a common ancestor.

Example: Wings of butterflies and birds, eyes of mammals and octopuses, etc.
