Flowering seed plant:-

  1. Angiosperms are the most complex and advanced plants in the plant kingdom which produce flowers.
  2. Hence, they are also known as flowering plants.
  3. A flower is the unit of sexual reproduction, exclusive only to the angiosperms.
  4. Angiosperms are broadly classified into two categories viz. monocots and dicots.
  5. Dicots are the angiosperm plants which have two cotyledons in their seeds e.g., pulses
  6. Monocots have a single cotyledon in their seeds e.g., wheat, rice, maize etc.
  7. A cotyledon is a leaf-like structure present in the seeds of seed-bearing plants.
