The body of the plant is heterotrichous and is divided into a prostrate system and an erect system. They are as follows:

Prostate or creeping system:

  1. The prostrate system is made up of creeping filaments that are irregularly branched.
  2. With the help of rhizoids, these filaments are linked to the substratum.

  4. In free-floating animals, the prostrate system is underdeveloped.

Erect system:

  1. The projection system arises from the prostate system.
  2. It is composed of well-branched filaments. Each branch is below the septum.
  3. The main axis and branch of the projection system are a single line. In this case, the Rens are connected end-to-end in a row.
