An astronomical phenomenon when the moon passes through the shadow of the earth which can only occur during a full moon is known as a lunar eclipse.
The color of the lunar eclipse is reddish due to the sunlight bending through the earth's atmosphere in other words it can be said that this can happen only when the night is the full moon.
Types of Lunar eclipse
There are two types of the lunar eclipse, such as:
Total lunar eclipse: A total lunar eclipse occurs when the moon and sun are on the exact opposite side of the earth.
Partial lunar eclipse: A partial lunar eclipse is that it happens when only a part of the moon enters the earth's shadow.
Therefore, the lunar eclipse is when Earth casts its shadow on the Moon.
