Solution

Mature cyst in Entamoeba histolytic

  1. A mature cyst in Entamoeba histolytica has four nuclei and thus is called a tertanucleate cyst or quadrinucleate cyst.
  2. Entamoeba histolytica in its primary host undergoes encystment to form an immature thin, rounded, transparent, resistant cyst around it.
  3. The cyst initially is mononucleate which divides twice to form a tetranuclear cyst which can cause infection in the new host.
