Question

What is a mixture, and how is it different from a compound?

Open in App
Solution

A mixture is an impure substance, whereas a compound is a pure substance.
Along with this, the constituents of a mixture can combine in any proportion, retaining their original property but the constituents of a compound must combine in a fixed ratio, and their properties are also lost during combination.
