Parasite:

1. The organisms that live on or inside the bodies of their hosts and feed on them are called parasites.
2. The parasite is the organism that obtains the food, and the host is the organism from which the food is taken.
3. Parasites that feed on the external surface of the host organism are called ectoparasites. Example - lice, ticks, Cuscuta
4. Parasites that live inside the host at different sites are called endoparasites: for example - roundworm, tapeworms.
