  1. External part of the ear is called the auricle or pinna.
  2. It is made up of a plate of elastic cartilage and covered by skin.
  3. Pinna consists of funnel-like curves that collect sound waves and transmits them to the middle ear.
  4. Pinna catches the sound vibrations from the air and channels them into the sound amplification through the ear canal to finally reaches to the ear drum or tympanic membrane.
