What is a rural area?
A rural area is an open swath of land that has few homes or other buildings, and not very many people. Many people live in a city, or urban area. Their homes and businesses are located very close to one another. An urban area is a region surrounding a city. Rural areas are areas which are not towns or cities. Communities are smaller in size and sparsely populated. The main occupation is agriculture. Their standard of living will be different. The population shows homogeneity of language, culture, customs etc.
