Saponification to form soft soap
Sodium and potassium soaps are soluble in water and are used for cleaning purposes.
Generally, potassium soaps are more soluble and are soft on the skin than sodium soaps.
Hence, potassium soaps are known as soft soaps. Soft soaps are made by the saponification of Glyceryl ester with potassium hydroxide to form potassium salt of fatty acids (soap).
