A long cylindrical coil if insulated copper wire of large number of circular turns is called Solenoid. And when a current passed through a solenoid. it produced magnetic field around it.
The magnetic field pattern produced by a current carrying Solenoid is similar to the magnetic field produced by a bar magnet.
